Community Kitchen’s restaurant model demonstrates that good food can be grown, delivered, prepared, and served
justly and equitably.

“The Community Kitchen pilot runs through December 13th, and we’d love for you and all of our LES neighbors to be part of it. Your experiences and feedback will shape what comes next for Community Kitchen and our dream of a permanent home in New York.

We believe great food can be grown, prepared, and served justly and equitably, without profit getting in the way. That means we pay fair wages, source from small local farms, and use a sliding scale (from $15 up), so everyone can enjoy a beautiful meal, no matter their means.

Our Culinary Director, Mavis-Jay Sanders (a James Beard Award winner and champion of plant-forward cooking) has crafted menus that are seasonal, local, and full of heart — celebrating the flavors of New York and the farmers who make it all possible. And under the leadership of Executive Director Rae Gomes, a long-time food justice advocate, we’re showing what it looks like when good food truly serves the community.” – From the Community Kitchen.
